Tailored Tuition

Tailored  Tuition

We tailor our lessons to your aspirations and teach you the skills you need to know to become better at your instrument. Music is more than simply learning a riff or chords. Learning the rules of music so you can apply them means you’ll learn faster and understand what you are playing. Learning a song is like learning your 2 times tables – it doesn’t mean you are great at maths.

Individual mentoring to help each student realise their aspiration. We provide lessons but also workshops, masterclasses and performance opportunities to give students an insight into what they are learning. The real world approach is extremely important as nothing substitutes experience and getting knowledge from the leaders in their field.

NMA fosters a culture driven by passion, excellence and genuine care. How do you become great at anything? If you love it, work at it, and feel inspired, then becoming great is the result. Immersion is the key and by providing students access to the depth and variety of all we offer, the inspiration to learn and improve is natural. Our passion is infectious and our main aim is to to let you be your best.

Catch a person a fish they are fed for a day, teach them to fish they are fed for life.

This basic philosophy is the keystone within our approach to teaching music. National Music Academy goes past the songs and into the core elements of music.

Mentoring

The most successful people have mentors to help guide them and show them the best path to follow to attain their goals. Giving a lesson and having a direction are two totally different things that’s why we mentor students no matter the level or goal.

Mentoring works this is why we have past students at National Music Academy who have gone on the study at various universities including and Berklee College of Music & Boston Conservatory in The United States, Australian Institute Of Music & Conservatory of Music of Florence in Italy.

We mentor all of our students; this encapsulates all levels and aspirations from people just wanting to play at their daughters wedding, ABRSM Exams, play in their first band, at church or just at home; right through to the professional gigging musicians or university undergraduates. Musicians are a product of their surroundings so having a mentor and role-model guiding them, is one of the key aspects to the success of their aspirations.

Our teachers want to know what you want to achieve to help you get there. Your teacher will personally mentor you and guide your lessons. Nurturing talent is a privilege and that is why we also source the best musicians and artists in the country and beyond to do our workshops and masterclasses so that our students and even other professional musicians can gain an insight into learning more about their art, taking our mentoring to the next level.
