Hassan Naeem is a guitarist, composer and songwriter based in Lahore, and has joined National Music Academy teaching Musicianship for its’ Professional Development Diploma. Hassan started his music career in 2001 and has since held positions within the music industry as a composer, song-writer, and as a sessional guitarist up until 2007.
From 2008 onwards, Hassan answered the noble call of teaching and has since been mentoring students in guitar, and in the formalities of music concepts and theory.
In 2012 Hassan began working along-side several musical societies and organisations in order to promote music culture and formalized teachings in Pakistan. During this time, Hassan’s work within education and music promotion lead him to work with private institutions involved in the organisation of wide-scale musical awareness campaigns.
Hassan’s primary interest and research focus has been within the fundamentals of music, and the history & origins of music. His focus has included extensive investigation into formal procedures in late nineteenth-century, and comparisons between Eastern and Western classical theory. Through his insight into the theoretical elements of music Hassan built a passion for “depth” in music that revolves around students achieving a balance of both conceptual and technique-based knowledge.
Hassan’s musical influences include industry legends Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali khan and A R Rehman, who have also played an enormous role in helping shape his personal development as an artist.
